God knocked on Daddy’s door
And quietly took him away
As he carried him to Heaven
I could hear Him softly say
You’ve lived a good life
The best I had to give
Your work here is done now
Come with me to Heaven and live.
You’ve shown the people
And you’ve taught my ways
You’ve followed the path
And you’ve sung my praise.
You’ve been faithful to me
All your life long
Now come to Heaven with me –
It is where you belong.
The clouds came together
Again once more,
Daddy’s gone to Heaven
From our hearts, tears will pour.
I stand at Daddy’s house
And knock upon his door,
There is no happy voice to welcome me in –
Daddy doesn’t live here anymore.
God bless you Daddy.

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are.
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
